In May, 2023, during the first China-Central Asia Summit, Northwestern Polytechnical University and Ali Farabbi Kazakhstan State University (hereinafter referred to as "Kazakhstan University") jointly established a branch school in Kazakhstan, and information and communication engineering of the School of Electronic Information was one of the first three majors in the branch school. Recently, under the leadership of Director Zhang Fuli of the International Cooperation Department, the college's assistant dean Qin Yuxiao, associate professor Lu Youmin, associate professor Tang Xiao, and foreign secretary Wang Qiuxia went to Kazakhstan to attend the first Sino-Kazakhstan Frontier Science Seminar, and discussed the cooperation between branches to accelerate the construction of branches.
At the opening ceremony of the seminar, Ali Farabbi Tuimebayev, President of Kazakhstan State University, Jiang Wei, Consul General of China in Almaty, and Zhang Fuli, Director of the International Cooperation Department of our university delivered speeches in turn. Subsequently, the representatives of the Chinese and Kazakh colleges made college reports in turn. Qin Yuxiao, assistant dean of our college, gave a detailed introduction on the faculty, personnel training, scientific research, discipline construction and other aspects, and said that this activity will help to promote the construction of branch schools with high quality. The College of Electronic Information will take this opportunity to give full play to the advantages of disciplines, and under the unified guidance of the school, formulate a training plan in detail to promote the construction of branch schools with high efficiency. Associate Professor Lu Youmin, the teacher representative of our college, gave a special report entitled The Latest Communication Network Technology and Our Research Progress, which clarified the significance of communication network technology and looked forward to the current research hotspots and future development direction.
During the meeting, the teachers of our college delegation had in-depth discussions and consultations with the heads of information and communication majors in Kazakhstan University. After a comprehensive and systematic comparison, combing and discussion, they reached an agreement on the management of training process, specific curriculum setting and credit conversion, and initially formulated the professional training program between the two colleges in the branch school.
On the second day of the meeting, the college delegation followed the International Cooperation Office to investigate Huawei Kazakhstan Company, and combined with the talent training objectives of the branch school, had a discussion and exchange with the person in charge of Huawei Kazakhstan Company, fully understood the enterprise talent demand, deeply discussed the cooperation mechanism, and further optimized the training plan.
Participating in the construction of Kazakhstan branch is an important step for the Institute of Electronic Information to promote the process of international education. Subsequently, under the guidance and support of the International Cooperation Department of the school and relevant functional departments, the college will conscientiously implement the responsibility of training units of branch schools, encourage and support the faculty and staff of the college to actively participate in the construction of branch schools, actively implement and promote the construction of branch schools, and contribute to the construction of branch schools.
